Covenant College is a four-year Christian college in Lookout Mountain, which is a city in Walker County, in the US state of Georgia, with a population of about 1600 inhabitants, estimated during the 2000 census. Lookout Mountain is a suburb of Chattanooga, Tennessee and part of the Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Covenant College was established in 1955 and it emphasizes the liberal arts. It was originally founded in Pasadena, and, before Lookout Mountain, its campus used to be in St. Louis, Missouri. It is an educational institution of the Presbyterian Church in America and stands in the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions.
Covenant's athletic teams are known as The Scots and Lady Scots and they compete in NCAA Division III, in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The college has been accepted for provisional membership in the NCAA Division III. It joined the Great South Athletic Conference in 2010, and began fielding sports in fall, 2010.
The distinctive colors for The Scots and Lady Scots are blue and white.
